Patot Dia Mas (fish Wrapped In Banana Leaves)
Mass Patot Diya (মাছ পাটোত দিয়া) is a beloved Assamese delicacy in which fish is marinated with aromatic spices, wrapped in banana leaves, and steamed to perfection. Patot dia mas is a quite famous recipe among Assamese people. Small fish are used to prepare this recipe. It is easy to prepare and quite tasty with rice.

Clean small sized fishes. Add finely chopped onions, ginger garlic paste, slitted chillies, salt as per taste, a pinch of turmeric and 2lemon leaves. Mixed everything well. Wrapped properly with banana leaves (2/3 layers) and make like a parcel. Now in a heated pan/tawa place this parcel and cover with a lid. Keep flame in medium. Let it be for 15-20minutes. Now flip it and do the same for the other side (15-20mins). outer layers will be burnt out. Just checked whether its done or not. If necessary cook for another 5-8minutes. Remove from flame. Let it cool for 2-3minutes. Add finely chopped onions, chillies , coriander leaves, 1-2tsp mustard oil. Mixed it well and serve with rice.
