Which Is The First Man Ias Officer From Assam?

The first Indian Civil Service (ICS) officer later known as IAS officer from Assam was Anundoram Borooah.
He created history by becoming not only Assam's first ICS officer but also one of the earliest Indians to qualify for the prestigious ICS during the British colonial era, back in 1870.

Anundoram Borooah's remarkable achievement opened the doors for future generations of Assamese youth to dream big and join top administrative services. Apart from his ICS success, he was also a distinguished scholar and linguist, contributing immensely to Indian literature and governance.

Quick Fact: The ICS was the highest civil service of the British Empire in India, and cracking it in the 19th century was considered a monumental achievement.
