Who Was The Last Independent Ahom King In Assam?
The last independent Ahom king of Assam was Purandar Singha. After the fall of Rangpur in 1826, the British East India Company took control, but briefly, in 1833, Purandar Singha was restored as a tributary ruler. However, his reign ended in 1838 when the British fully annexed Assam, marking the final end of the Ahom dynasty. | ||
