The site was ceremonially inaugurated on 20 September 2020 by Debolal Gorlosa, Chief Executive Member of the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC), as part of efforts to promote new tourist destinations in the Umrangso area.
Miyungma Daogah Waterfall is known for its cascading water flowing down a rocky slope amid the forested hills. The natural surroundings provide an excellent atmosphere for photography, short nature walks and quiet picnics. Its relatively secluded character makes it suitable for travellers looking to experience a less crowded side of Dima Hasao.
The monsoon season, particularly from June to September, is considered an attractive period to visit because rainfall increases the water flow and enhances the greenery around the waterfall. However, visitors should take care on forest paths and slippery surfaces during heavy rain.
Located near several attractions of Umrangso, Miyungma Daogah Waterfall can be included in a wider sightseeing trip covering the Kopili Dam, Umrangso Lake and other scenic locations around the town.
