Established in 1965 on land generously donated by Rambahadur Pratap Narayan Choudhury, the temple has gradually evolved into a major center for religious and cultural activities. Over the years, additional structures, prayer halls, and facilities have been developed, enhancing its role as a place of worship and community gathering. The temple is especially famous for hosting the grand Rash Mahotsav, one of the most celebrated religious festivals in Assam. Held annually during Rash Purnima, the festival attracts devotees, cultural performers, and visitors from different parts of the state and neighboring regions.
Apart from Rash Mahotsav, the temple celebrates Sri Krishna Janmashtami, Mahashivratri, Durga Puja, Ganesh Chaturthi, Hanuman Jayanti, and important occasions related to Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardeva.
