Dimpu Baruah was born on 6 August 1995 in Assam and belongs to Nalbari district. He was raised in a simple Assamese family by his parents, Pitambar Baruah and Latika Baruah. During his childhood, he spent considerable time at his maternal uncle's home and was known to be a quiet and shy student. His humble upbringing and strong connection with Assamese traditions continue to be reflected in his videos and public personality.
He completed his schooling at Debiram Pathshala Higher Secondary School before pursuing Higher Secondary education in the Arts stream from Brahmaputra Valley Star Academy Junior College. Later, he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in English from Nalbari College. To pursue a teaching career, he also completed a Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.), which enabled him to work as a school teacher before entering the digital world.
Before becoming a full-time content creator, Dimpu Baruah worked as a teacher at a primary school in Nalbari. His passion for technology, photography, storytelling, and filmmaking encouraged him to experiment with YouTube. In 2017, he uploaded his first video titled "Nalbari Town by Cycle."
