Early Life
Bineswar Brahma was born on 28 February 1948 in Bhatarmari village of Kokrajhar district, Assam. He was born to Taramoni Brahma and Sanathi Brahma. Growing up in a rural environment, he developed a deep appreciation for education, literature, and the traditions of the Bodo people. His commitment to preserving the cultural identity of his community became evident from an early age.
Education
He completed his primary education at Bhatarmari Primary School before studying at Kokrajhar Higher Secondary School for his middle and secondary education. During his school years, he earned the Hindi Bisarad qualification, demonstrating his proficiency in the Hindi language. He later pursued higher education at Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture in 1972. His educational background combined scientific knowledge with a lifelong passion for literature and social service.
Professional Career
Bineswar Brahma began his professional career as a teacher, serving at Debargaon Venture High School and Kokrajhar Vidyapith High School. Later, he joined Assam Agro Industries as a Field Demonstrator before moving to the Fertilizer Corporation of India (FCI). Over the years, he worked as an Agronomist, Deputy Manager, and eventually Joint Manager in the Guwahati Zonal Office. Despite a successful professional career, he remained deeply committed to literature and community development.
Literary Contributions
Bineswar Brahma made remarkable contributions to Bodo and Assamese literature through poetry, prose, fiction, and essays. His writings reflected the cultural heritage, social values, and aspirations of the Bodo people.
